# Force Property

 Force property helps to alter the datatype and size of a column in the database. This feature is applicable when the column is created in the database. It is not applicable to alter existing column in the database.

To enable this feature, please follow the below steps.

* Edit **system.properties** under **<\<install-folder>>\dbsync-repl\WEB-INF\db\conf** and include the command \
  FORCE.<\<COLUMN\_NAME>>=<\<data\_type(size)>>
* Following are some of the examples

1. FORCE.ID=nchar(18)
2. FORCE.DATE= datetime(6)
3. FORCE.TEST\_\_C=varchar(100)
